I actually worked with a transaction services department for a global funds company, while being a temp. When coming to that department, I had my birthday coming up, as the social secretary came up to get my birthdate to do the collection for a cake.
Well, because my birthday fell during the Memorial Day Weekend, I thought they may wait until I came back, as they usually bought a cake and a card, temps or otherwise.
They not only forgot my birthday, I had to go through the whole year, being asked when my birthday was, for which they would ask celebrating other people's birthdays. The major reason was that the social secretary didn't like me, and that I came as a temp, and went permanent when the department didn't really have the work to justify me...what a joke!
